Bulk Port Tariff Benchmarking and Service Fee Review

Ezz Zteel, the leading steel producer in the MENA region, commissioned Ports and Logistics Consultants Ltd. to develop a cost-based tariff model and conduct tariff benchmarking or EZDK and ERM facilities in El-Dekheila and Sokhna ports, respectively.  We developed a cost-based tariff model  for each port facility, berth and yard utilisation and use of equipment, then  benchmarked handling fees and and service terms against selected international and regional dry bulk ports and terminals. Our work provided justification for Ezz Steel to renegotiate handling fees, MTQ and TOP levels, as well as escalation rates, threshold traffic bands, and performance standards. To-date, we carried out 22 port pricing and tariff review exercises along 12 similar reviews for maritime service and destination charges.
